Pure Vibes
We define… An unconventional acoustic genre’
The music of Pure Vibes is a hybrid of Top 40's, R&B, Pop, Jazz and Soul. The group began as a jamming band way back 2005, when original drummer and founder Johnny Lausingco formed the group at his humble abode in Sampaloc. With his neighbors Joel (guitarist), Julio (vocals), and (bassist) Romer, they formed the group as Vibes Acoustic, meaning something that issues from a source; an emission of the emotional reactions between people.
It emanates the good atmosphere when a band plays music in front of an audience.
Some of the venues they performed in needed a female member to complete their music. That's when Ysabel Gabat, a vocalist and female bongocera (bongo percussionist) joined in. She did session jams and had backed up some recording artists such as Aiza Seguerra and Ron Antonio (formerly Wiseguys) & played with both acoustic and full band previously before this band. The band began performing north of the Metropolis (Quezon City) such as Niche' Bar & Grill, Dapo, Streetlife,Party Avenue Fat J's, all in Quezon City, El Pescador, Kizmet Chismez, to as far south as Café Lupe Tagaytay, Barko Grill and other special events. Having temporarily disbanded because the members opted for different paths in their respective careers and in 2006, Johnny left the group.
August 2007, Ysabel decided to revive the band thus christening it to Pure Vibes and a new breed of members is born… Larry Ropero, a former bassist of Blakdyak's back up band decided to attune himself with acoustic music. He plays genres from rock to as far as R&B and techno, his virtuosity makes him an extraordinary acoustic guitar player. ► click to continue --------------------------►
